About Rosie's Hospice of Compassion
This Death Cafe is hosted by Emily Wells and Nicole Beasley.
Nicole is the compassionate founder of Rosie’s Hospice of Compassion, established in 2016. Motivated by her deep empathy for animals, Nicole converted
her home into a sanctuary providing end-of-life care for rescued chickens and other vulnerable small animals such as senior dogs, pigeons, and guinea pigs. The hospice was named after Rosie, a beloved hen who left a lasting imprint on Nicole's heart, and it serves as a safe haven for animals who are elderly, injured, ill, or neglected.
Nicole’s vision for Rosie’s Hospice goes beyond just caring for animals. She created a specialized End of Life Doula Service to support both pets and their human
companions during the difficult transition of saying goodbye. Having personally experienced the grief of losing beloved animals, including her dog Comet, who was with her for 23 years, Nicole extends emotional support through in-person and virtual meditation groups for animal carers coping with loss.
