About this Death Cafe
Welcome to the Herne Hill Death Cafe! This in-person event will take place at the Carnegie Library Hub where we'll gather to share stories, thoughts, and questions about death in a relaxed and supportive environment. Whether you're curious, scared, or just want to connect with others, this event is for you. The Death Cafe movement started in London in 2011 and there have been over 18,000 held around hte world since then. More information available on www.deathcafe.com
Come sip on some coffee or tea, eat our homemade cake and let's chat about the one thing we all have in common. See you there!
They are life-affirming events, but sensitive discussions are of course possible so please bear this in mind. Participants in a recent cafe held in Peckham described the gathering as 'welcoming, thought-provoking, supportive, positive, friendly, honest, safe, disinhibiting, helpful, clarifying, open and revealing'.
Everyone is welcome and the event is FREE, but please book a ticket in advance.
These are discussion groups rather than grief support or counselling sessions.
