About this Death Cafe

We are engaging residents and friends in an open, expressive atmosphere to discuss death, dying, and all that goes with it.  We are clear this is not a bereavement group and not a support group.  There will always be cake! We have connections with various cafes and businesses in Kennebunk and Kennebunkport to support each event with savory and sweet treats.

As Dr Gugliucci is engaged with the medical and health professions students at the University of New England, we plan to invite students to each session as their class schedule allows. Having future health care providers find comfort in talking about death (which is true for the residents and friends) could support a peaceful approach to death.

About Kennebunkport Public Health Dept and Louis T Graves Library

Dr. Marilyn R. Gugliucci, a professor and the director of geriatrics education and research at the University of New England’s College of Osteopathic Medicine will facilitate the forum.
