About this Death Cafe
Loneliness and isolation are particularly raw in the aftermath of any loss, from feelings of angst during a divorce to mourning a past relationship, grief isn’t limited to death
About Sarah V Thompson
Sarah Thompson is the Director of Dandelion Clock Transitions. Her mission is to increase the availability and access to high quality end-of-life education and care for patients and families. Sarah is dedicated to normalizing death, dying, and grief to alleviate fear and anxiety through information and support.
Sarah formed Dandelion Clock after she was moved to action by what she experienced with her own mother's unexpected death. Although peaceful, it was not the beautiful, empowering death that she feels every person has a right to experience, but a heartbreaking, traumatic one that she recognized was the reality for far too many.
Improving end-of-life outcomes for all members of the community through education and advocacy, as well as increasing satisfaction with the home hospice care experience is the ultimate goal of Dandelion Clock Transitions.
Sarah was trained at the Doulagivers Institute in end-of-life care and elder assistance, she is a certified Holistic Health Practitioner (CHHP), a registered traditional healer of the Oklevueha Native American Church, an ordained Minister through the AMM, and a registered Notary (NNA). Sarah is a pioneer in the Death Doula and Death Positive Movements and hopes to bring back that awareness of death as being the greatest teacher about LIFE.
