Karen Mittet (islandnarrativetherapy.com) has a Masters in Narrative Therapy and Community work and is a Narrative Therapy Counsellor.  She has Death and Grief certifications with the Center for Loss and Life Transition and the Grief Online Studios.  Karen has facilitated several bereavement groups over the years for non-profit organizations as well as in her private practice.  She resides in Victoria, BC.  

About Karen Mittet

Death is a topic that I am passionate about since my mother died when I was in my early twenties several years ago.  Often people want to talk about death but do not have a safe space to do so.  Since Covid has isolated many, I thought it was the right time to hold a Death Cafe and begin the conversation once again.  I have been to a Death Cafe held by my brother in Vancouver, BC as well as one in Bellingham WA.  Both were incredible experiences and I would like to bring the dialogue into the community in which I reside.
