About this Death Cafe
Now that your taxes are done you can think about the only other certainty in your life.... death.
If your life is a movie, how does it end?
The truth is, most of us don’t feel like we have a lot of say in how our own story ends. And not having a say can feel overwhelming, lonely, and some days, a little bit terrifying. It doesn’t have to feel that way. We just have to start talking about it.
We need to talk openly about death.
Join us for our first FREE Death Cafe, where we'll dive into death - life's ultimate mystery.
Death Cafe discussions are meaningful and unforgettable, and they aren’t just sad and serious. We’ll laugh, learn, and plan for the future. You’ll make deep connections with new friends. Attending a Death Cafe might even change how you view your life and how you live each day.
People at all phases of life are welcome - and your leashed, well-behaved dogs are invited, too! You and the other attendees will decide the conversation topics, but we promise to help keep things light, fun, and educational.
Holistic end-of-life experts will be available to answer questions about planning, communicating, and documenting your end-of-life desires. You’ll learn about eco-friendly options you can choose for your deceased body, as well as medical device and donation possibilities. We’re also happy to discuss how plant medicine can be used to reduce fears, anxieties, and existential distress related to death.
At our Death Cafe, we create a safe space to openly discuss the end of life, whether it's your journey or reflecting on a loved ones' passing. Let's plan for a good death, even if it's not happening for many years to come.
A light breakfast, tea, and coffee will be served, and we’ll have some uplifting live music provided by Kimberly Erin- a hospice nurse and talented local musician.
