About this Death Cafe

Death Cafe is back to Warkworth for our second session of 2024. This is a comfortable space to ask questions, discuss everything death related, and muse on life and how it ends.

This time we meet at Besoul Funeral home. Afternoon tea is provided so RSVP is required for catering purposes.

The discussions are led by the attendees. We are positive and compassionate, and happy to share our knowledge and experience, and look forward to hearing yours.

About Lily Watson & Karen Williamson

Lily is a funeral director with 10 years experience working in the funeral industry. She is currently manager and funeral director at besoul Funerals in Warkworth and is passionate in educating and helping families to exercise their rights and their wishes relating to death care.

Karen is a registered nurse with 8 years experience working in a rural community hospice. She is a shroud maker, an advocate for sustainable funerals and is passionate about empowering family and community in taking ownership of death care. Karen lives in Kaiwaka.
