About this Death Cafe
Far from being sombre or macabre occasions, Death Cafes offer an opportunity to explore and share our thoughts about the subject of living and dying in a safely contained friendly and relaxed environment. I have been involved with many aspects of living with death and dying and know that doing so makes living easier. I am grateful to The Old Fire Station for making its cafe available for these events, and you can purchase a drink and a cake/bun if you arrive a few minutes early.

JOELLE MANN is a Soul Midwife-Death Doula, Trained with the Natural Death Centre as a Befriender, with Green Fuse as a Funeral Celebrant, is a member of Companion Voices, was a therapist and has been facilitating death cafes in person and online since 2017.
ARNE RICHARDS is an Independent,Green Fuse -trained Funeral Celebrant.
As an experienced facilitator and presenter he knows first hand, how the
flow of a good funeral ceremony with its tapestry of poetry, music, words
and ritual can guide the thoughts and feelings of mourners through the
grieving process towards a sense of hope, love and mutual support.
DAVID THURSTON is a retired GP and psychiatrist, member variouos choirs and a Buddhist.
