About this Death Cafe

I wanted to open up the conversation around death and life. People are afraid to talk about death and very often it is a conversation that gets shot down. Creating a space where people can explore the conversation about death has also have the effect of deepening the conversation about life. 

About Genevieve Matthews

My name is Genevieve and I am a Counselor and Death Doula by profession. I am passionate about art, gardening and my work.

I wanted to start the Death Cafe just as something to help open up the conversation around life and death. I am forever a student and always willing to listen, share and learn. 

Life is to be celebrated and death is the spark that lights the flames of life's creative nature.
