About Dee M
SOMA emerged from the necessity of learning how to navigate life as a survivor of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), coupled with the realisation that numerous others shared this same journey.
Our primary objective is to mutually empower one another in the pursuit of creating meaningful and satisfying lives.
Dee Melbourne, the founder of Survivors of Mind-body Abuse (SOMA), has extensively studied trauma, grief, art therapy, and addictions - leaning more toward holistic and existential training. She is also a certified and practicing Yoga and meditation teacher. Dee continues to expand her knowledge, currently dedicating herself to further counselling training and postgraduate studies in Applied Buddhism.
Presently, Dee is actively involved in the fields of Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) support and suicide postvention.
Above all, she cherishes her fellow survivors and her own life experiences as the most profound source of continuing wisdom and growth.
