About this Death Cafe

Talking about sex won't make you pregnant, and talking about death won't make you dead...

We are thrilled to be hosting Nevada County's first Death Cafe! Ours is a community of dreamers and doers at the forefront of consciousness that is always willing to come together to celebrate life and all that it encompasses.

We have a booming population of elders in our county, many of whom would rather boldly and maybe even joyously face the death they thought would never come than cower in fear and silence as our culture dictates. And our younger folks are never afraid to take a novel approach with a taboo subject. Our community is ready to have this conversation.

(Plus, Nevada Countians are widely known to show up anywhere that free cake and tea are being served...)

Special thanks to The Nest for proudly sponsoring this event by providing their cozy, welcoming space for us. The Nest supports babies and their families with a variety of services and classes and are just as happy as we are to honor the full spectrum of human life- from birth to death... and beyond! (Maybe? Who knows- let's get together and talk about it).

***PLEASE NOTE that the map that is showing up on this page is incorrect- Providence Mine is off of Zion St. in Nevada City. See our Facebook event page here for easy social media sharing of this event AND for a more accurate map: https://www.facebook.com/events/1425642214316380/***
