Death Cafe is a worldwide movement, bringing people together over tea and cake to talk about death with a view to making the most of life.

About The Common Lot at the Mile Cross Exchange - a community space celebrating the history of the Mile Cross Estate. With Su Squire & Alex Watson
The Common Lot make theatre that matters to people: relevant, home-grown, original and accessible.They draw on the richness of energy, talent and enthusiasm of local people to create theatre for, with and about the people of Norwich.
Su is a storyteller and theatre-maker who specialises in creating work about death and grief. She has been facilitating Death cafe events in Norwich since 2013 and is passionate about creating spaces for people to talk openly about death.
Alex is a soul midwife and end of life doula in training. She works as a carer for the elderly and on the palliative care ward at the N&N Hospital with the Anne Robson trust Butterflies, supporting those in the very last days of their lives. She came to this career after a long and varied work life all over Europe in everything from English teaching to drag cabaret. After feeling the need to find a more spiritual purpose and meaning to her life she discovered the doula and soul midwifery role and is now dedicating herself to offering loving support to those coming to the end of their lives.
