About this Death Cafe

The Death Cafe will be held in a meeting room within the funeral home.

It is being put on to give people wanting to talk about death and dying a safe environment to discuss it with like minded people.

Participants are encouraged to participate as themselves rather than their job role.

Refreshments will be available and people should wear whatever is comfortable.

About Rebecca Lambert

Rebecca qualified as a hairstylist in 2004 and after 4 years left the industry to work as a Support Worker at a Nursing Home. It was in this setting she experienced death and dying for the first time.

Through a personal bearevement in 2008, Rebecca found herself working part time in a Funeral Directors and over the last 15 years has carved a career helping people at what is essentially the most difficult time of their lives. 

Rebecca manages six funeral homes within the Portsmouth and surrounding areas and a team of approx 25 people.

Drawing on her own personal experiences of grief and having attended a Death Cafe she hopes that hosting a session will give people in the local community the courage to discuss death, dying, fears or other interests around the subject.
