About this Death Cafe
This event will be held under all the conditions of The Death Cafe model. There will be no agenda, no speakers, information, or films. We will have an open discussioin about death and allow those attending to ask questions, wax philosophical, or just listen to others as they participate.
There will be cakes of course! I hope to meet many people who are interested in the subject of death and want to become more comfortable discussing it in a positive atmosphere.
About Jennifer Brown
Let me introduce myself, Jennifer Brown, I am a practicing Death Doula in Southern Oregon. For 22 years I have been involved in and studying End of Life.
Being widowed at 47 years old when my husband was killed in a traffic accident started my search for a path through grief, loss, and helping others.
My Educational and Volunteer Background is a Bachelors Degree from Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina
I have studied with Alan Wolfelt for Basic Bereavement Skills, completed two Clincal Pastoral Education Units, as well as being trained by INELDA as a End of Life Doula in June 2020.
As a Hospice volunteer I have faciltated adult groups, as well as attended group homes and facilities for visitation.
My own grief support group called From My Hear To Your Heart has been held in the past and currently available to hold again.
I have authored a Grief Support Workbook titled Simply Grieving: A New Normal.
