About this Death Cafe

This Pop up Death Cafe takes place in Blackfriars Settlement, which has been supporting the local community in Southwark since 1887.
As part of a global movement our Death Cafe is a chance for people in the community to come together, and over a cup of tea and slice of cake, talk freely about death and dying in a safe environment. The session will be informally facilitated and discussion will be in small groups with a chance to move around and meet more people.

Death Café's are not platforms for promotion, and they are not a forum for counselling or bereavement advice. Cafe's are without answers, and don't attempt to provide solutions or conclusions. They are an attempt to overcome our taboos about talking about death in a positive and productive way.
Invariably there is always laughter, sometimes a tear (or two). It's possible there will be discussion about cake too...
It will be different, it's highly likely to be fun. You can come and go as you wish.
