About this Death Cafe
A relaxed, informal way to come together and change the way we talk about death.
It's not a bereavement or counselling session, but rather a safe space to talk about a subject we often avoid as part of our daily conversations. To find meaning, ask questions and reflect on what’s important in a relaxed and informal way. The discussions are usually fascinating lively and full of laughter.
About Pilgrims Hospices
Annie’s Hogben's background is in nursing; in her current role as Expert Volunteer Development Lead, she works closely with clinical teams to develop volunteer roles alongside services for patients, carers and bereaved families and loved ones. She also oversees the introduction of new volunteer roles to support Pilgrims’ services, to compliment the charity’s volunteer workforce.
Annie is a facilitator for SAGE & THYME communication training and hosts Death Cafes, which both provide opportunities to engage with internal and external professionals and members of the public.
