About this Death Cafe
∞ The hope for the Southampton Death Cafe is the co-creation of a space for people of all ages to come together and reflect on death and its presence in our lives.
∞ From the Death Cafe movement, our objective is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their finite lives'.
∞ Please note the venue is up a broad staircase, there is not a lift.
About Ruth Allen
∞ Since seeing Egyptian Mummies as a child, I have been fascinated by how we approach our mortality, and have the philosophy of living life with death in mind, memento mori.
∞ Whilst working in the NHS as a psychologist I have facilitated discussion groups for people living with ill health and healthcare staff, and hosted Death Cafes.
