About this Death Cafe

Bring your cafecito, tea, or atole and join us in a platica (heart-to-heart conversation) about all things death related.

This Death Cafe is an open space for Queer & Trans Black, Indigenous, People of Color to discuss death. As your facilitators, we will set a container, offer the opportunity for folks to introduce themselves, and gently guide the discussion based on your interests. This is a warm and welcoming community to explore all things death related. It is not a grief support or counseling session. Space is limited to 20 people so register today to secure your spot!

About Melissa Reyes & Batul True Heart

Melissa Reyes and Batul True Heart are the founders of 'Floripondio End of Life Planning and Services' where we provide culturally-conscious death companionship for Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and all dying allies. We are traditional healers, community herbalists, and death companions. We are indigenous and queer. We are committed to advocacy and supporting our people to understand their options and feel a sense of respect, honor and dignity as they navigate this journey. Although we know death cannot be cured, we believe that when given the proper conditions, the end of life can be a healing experience for everyone involved.
