About this Death Cafe

While stress, compassion fatigue, and burnout continue to rise among healthcare workers, new ways are needed to support ourselves and each other. The Phoenix Chapter of the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA) is offering Death Cafe for healthcare providers. Death Café is a lightly structured space to have real conversations about death from both a personal and professional perspective. It is a group-directed discussion with no guiding questions or themes, and has the intention of creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space to share and to help ourselves make the most of our (finite) lives. We recognize that healthcare providers often face unique experiences related to death and dying, and we want to honor those experiences in the Café. All who identify as healthcare professionals are welcome to join. No preparation or prior experience with Death Cafe is necessary. We hope this will be a rich and meaningful experience for all, and we look forward to seeing you there!
