About Richard Holmes
Richard is a healthcare assistant at a small community hospice charity in Gloucestershire. He attended his first Death Cafe event in May of this year as part of a "Dying Matters Week" event. He was so inspired that he attended another cafe in Nailsworth in June, and was further inspired to start his own.
Richard believes that death is a vital part of life and should be embraced as such. Death Cafes go a long way to alleviate the taboo that still surrounds the subject of death, especially in the UK. He sees the prospect of starting a Death Cafe in Minchinhampton as a great opportunity to encourage more people to talk about what can be an extremely difficult subject.
