About this Death Cafe

There will be no agenda just a chance to talk or listen to a conversation about death and dying in a respectful and supportive environment. This event is not suitable for the newly bereaved.

We often laugh and cry in the same conversation and always feel engaged and stimulated by the conversation.

Homemade cake will be provided

About Susan Barsky Reid and Rabbi Fabian Sborovsky

Susan Barsky Reid, co-founder of the Death Cafe movement, is the mother of Death Cafe founder Jon Underwood, and hosted the world's first Death Cafe in Jon's basement in Hackney in 2011. As well as facilitating the first Death Cafe, Sue co-wrote the Death Cafe guidelines with Jon and was hugely instrumental in shaping the Death Cafe that we know and love today.

As Rabbi at Menorah Synagogue, Fabian Sborovsky espouses a joyful Jewish experience and synagogue atmosphere that enables spiritual growth, encourages learning and direct interaction with traditional sources. He is dedicated to inspiring the positive and confident Jewish identity which he himself embraces. Grounded in tradition, he is committed to Jewish pluralism within a welcoming, dynamic, and open community with active involvement in society at large.
