About this Death Cafe

This is an invitation to join us in talking about the uncomfortable, yet inevitable topics of them all.

Bring some money to buy delicious homemade cakes along a fresh cup of coffé/tea at the Husky Café. Cuddle dogs and puppies and then head down to the Conference centre by 4pm where we will sit together and chat openly about the death, hopefully to encourage us to make the most of our finitive lives.

This is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session. We do not offer any guidelines or personal support, but rather invite people to share their stories to become a tiny bit more comfortable in talking about the arduous topic.

Please let us know if you are coming. This gathering is limited up to 15 people. Feel free to contact at any time if you have any questions.

About Geraldine & Ieva

Ieva recently returned from New Zealand where she attended a Death Café event in Tākaka in Golden Bay during her travels and fieldwork in visual anthropology. She was transformed by the way people opened up to her in talking about death and grief.

After returning to Tromsø, encouraged by her friend Geraldine we want to bring Death Cafe to the Arctic. Geraldine says about herself that there is never enough time to do what she loves, including nothing. People surrounding her are amazing and a constant source of inspiration. Life has been generous and great so far, and future is looking bright! Hopefully filled with trips in the mountains, a lot of carpentry, never enough pole dancing, good books and music, and starting a phd in sustainable architecture.
