About this Death Cafe

This is a safe, informal and free space for people to talk about life and death. Because recognising death as an integral part of life might prompt us to live more fully.

So we invite you to get together to exchange stories, feelings, thoughts, etc., on life and death while learning from each other.

If you want to participate (or want more information), please contact the Chesterfield Library or write to doula.mariana.garcia@gmail.com.

About Chesterfield Library and Mariana García

Chesterfield’s main library is situated in the heart of Chesterfield as part of the Pavements Shopping Centre. The Library has 3 floors full of books, special activity rooms, free internet and now is opening its space to welcome the community to speak about death and dying in partnership with Mariana Garcia.

Mariana is a psychologist who since 2015 has dedicated herself to deepening her knowledge about death and dying. This process led her to become an end of life doula (first in the USA and then in the UK) and, therefore, she now commits herself to supporting individuals and their loved ones, as well as groups and communities, through the process of living and dying.
