About this Death Cafe
The upcoming festive season can bring up a lot of emotions for people who are struggling with a recent bereavement or even for those whose loved ones died some time ago. Many families get together for Christmas and other festivites, and this time of year can be a difficult one for many who don't feel like celebrating or find it difficult to join in. Seeing other families getting together can accentuate feelings of loss or grief and this Death Cafe is an invitation for people to come if they wish to be supported so that they can talk about how they feel.
Over a cup of tea or coffee, with a delicious muffin, come along and meet others who wish to have a conversation about death and dying - in a safe, supported environment. Death will come to us all, yet how many people struggle to talk about it or to share their experiences around death and dying? How many people find that if they do wish to talk about death, they are dismissed as being weird or morbid?
Numbers are limited to 15, so booking is necessary. Suggested donation of $10 to cover cost of refreshments and use of the space.
