About this Death Cafe

West London Death Cafe was started in 2018 by Clare and Emily as there wasn't one in West London at the time - first at the Playground Theatre and then at The Bush Theatre, in Shepherds Bush, where it ran until Covid drove us online.

We hope to make it a relaxed event, where we can even have a laugh while we face questions which might be difficult, painful or scary.  The aim is for everyone to leave feeling lighter and more able to enjoy life unfettered by fears of the unknown.

Since March 2020, we have continued quarterly online events on a small scale, limited to a maximum of 10 guests. 

We have a small grant from Hammersmith United Charities to cover the hire fee at the Bush, where we hope to return in the autumn, pandemics permitting.

We are both experienced Death Cafe facilitators and trained End of Life Doulas.  We believe in the value of providing a safe space for people to explore their thoughts and feelings about death and dying.
