About this Death Cafe

I have advocated for years that we as a culture should talk openly about death and dying.  Creating a community that offers a safe space for people to gather and do that has been something I've wanted to do for years.  As things begin to shift out of lockdown, I felt now was the perfect time to begin this work.  

About Kelly Hayler

A New York City based and trained doula, I embrace the fact that everyone brings their own fears, beliefs, and experiences to the topic of death and dying.  All of which can make discussing and preparing for your own death difficult and scary, especially when having to do so unexpectedly.  My mission is to provide information, support and a safe space so that you feel empowered to make decisions that reflect and honor how you want to be cared for while dying and after death.  I strongly believe that when we are able to discuss these things openly, it sheds light on the darkness we carry around death and hopefully, ease some of the fear.
