About this Death Cafe
A Death Cafe is a gathering of people to talk about death and dying with the goal "to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives".
Often, when we are talking about dying, we are talking about living.
When we become more comfortable speaking about death, we create space for others to speak about death and dying, thereby having a positive impact on death culture around us.
Death Cafes are free events run with no agenda or business backing as simple spaces to discuss anything around the topic of death. Everyone is welcome. No question or comment is forbidden.
In non-pandemic, in-person times, Death Cafes include refreshments, such as a meal, cookies, tea or coffee. We recommend attending our virtual group with your favorite (non-alcoholic) drink.
To register for this Death Cafe, please email info@sacredspaceastoria.com.
We offer the monthly Death Cafes freely and openly.
