About this Death Cafe
18 people attended! That's our largest group yet. Death Cafe in Michigan is getting more publicity due to recent articles and radio spots and more are coming out in October. Merilynne has been interviewed three times in recent weeks.
Participants shared about the lack of compassion and care during hospital deaths that left them not only with grief but feeling traumatized by the experience.
A grief counselor had an idea about creating a 12-step program about death that starts with "Hi, I'm ___ and I'm going to die."
Memories, grief, afterlife, death talk avoidance - all were discussed.
