About this Death Cafe

Holding a Death Café is a great Opportunity for us. People in Vienna are more closed considering talking about Death. Life´s paradigma is Flow, Change, Transition and Death. As Artists we feel privileged and committed to social and political movements and to break silence. Aurelia and Jella are hosting and coaching the group. We all have open minds, open hearts and good humor.
1. Wiener Death Café will take place in Café Jelinek, near the big shopping mall Mariahilferstrasse. It is a safe place. We will hold the Café all six weeks. It´s allways a Friday at 5:00 (arriving) up to 8:00 pm or even longer. We speak German, English, French, Italian.Reservations mandatory.

Als ich 2013 über das Death Café gelesen habe, war mir sofort klar: Das ist mein Ding. Denn nach dem dramatischen Tod meiner Mutter hatte ich das Bedürfnis mich dem Thema Sterben und Tod eindringlich zu widmen, mehr darüber herauszufinden, einen persönlichen Zugang für mich zu suchen.
Verdrängung, Schweigen und der Mythos Tod - das sitzt fest verankert in uns. Meistens sind wir uns dessen gar nicht zur Gänze bewusst. Dabei ist das Leben permanent voller Veränderung. Das internationale Death Café- Movement ist eine grosse Chance!
Aurelia und Jella leiten, organisieren die Gruppe. Lange berufliche Erfahrungen mit Gruppen haben wir vorzuweisen. Vor allem aber, bei allem Ernst und Tiefe des Themas, sind wir offenen Herzens, guten Mutes und Witz. Gelegentlich wird es die Möglichkeit geben auch besondere Gäste zu unserem Thema einzuladen, Experten, FilmemacherInnen u.v.a.
1. Wiener Death Café findet alle 6 Wochen an einem Freitag im 6ten Bezirk im Café Jelinek in der Otto Bauergasse statt. Das ist gleich bei der Shopping Mall Mariahilferstrasse. Das 1. Wiener Death Café existiert nun seit Februar 2014 und ist jedes Mal eine Bereicherung für uns. Wir zelebrieren das Leben und feiern es in unseren Meetings und genau deshalb hat auch der Tod seinen Platz in unserer Mitte. Vor allem Trinken und Essen sind lebenspendende Begleiter in der Gesprächsrunde, sie nähren uns und führen uns wieder in die Mitte (zum Bauch) Wir sprechen Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch, Italienisch. Voranmeldungen unbedingt notwendig.

About JELLA
JELLA JOST/HOST
Born in Vienna Dezember 1961 in a Familiy of Artists. Studied Acting and Music in Vienna and Feminism and Politics on the Universitiy of Vienna. Jella has 2 children and is married. Diploma in Yoga 1990 in Canada. Numerous Performances and Works with int. Directors, State Theaters and Free Groups. Jella works now as an Author and for a Newspaper as well as a Lecturer for Phonetic and Voice. Large experience in leading groups. Currently she makes a teachers training in Qi Gong and TCM Medicine. Continuous Buddhist Practice and Retreats.
AURELIA BURCKHARDT/FACILITATOR
Born in Bern. One child, married, lives in Vienna now. Aurelia is an Artist too, Actress and Dancer, and has performed in many int. Productions. Her first Short-Film "Annamaria" has won the special award "section: women issue" at the Pentedattilo Filmfestival, Calabria and was presented at the short film corner / Filmfestival Cannes. Since 2008 she is playing in films of Jessica Hausner, Daniel Hoesl, Patrick Vollrath and is giving her voice to films of Clemens Kogler and Othmar Schmiderer/Angela Summereder.
