About this Death Cafe

Since becoming a funeral celebrant, Julie has noticed the hesitation in speaking about death openly but when the conversation is started, people seem to have a need to share their thoughts and worries, concerns and hopes for when their time comes. The fact of the matter is we are all going to die, and Julie hopes by offering this space to talk about death that we will all become more aware of living.

About Julie Keon

Professionally, Julie Keon is a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant specializing in the creation of personal and memorable ceremonies from birth to death. Throughout her life, she has had the privilege of being a doula and supporting couples through labour and birth and in 2012, she was offered the opportunity to become a Licensed Marriage Officiant and performs civil marriage ceremonies within the province of Ontario. Her latest life's work is helping people to celebrate the lives of their loved ones when the end of life has arrived. Julie feels very blessed and honoured to have been a part of so many of life's grand events and looks forward to continuing to bring the death cafe to her community.
