About this Death Cafe

Death is an unavoidable part of life, but we generally aren't very good at talking about it and the Covid-19 pandemic is making us face up to this fact.

Death cafes provide a chance to talk openly with others about the subject.

So join us for a friendly, informal session to chat with others about any aspect of death that you would like to explore.

You can dial in by zoom using a computer or smartphone, or use a telephone number.  Please book your place on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/death-cafe-by-healthwatch-lambeth-tickets-103437482294

The session will be hosted by Kate from the Healthwatch Lambeth engagement team.  Kate has run several face-to-face death cafes before, but this zoom session will be a bit of an experiment!

This event is part of Dying Matters Week, 11-17 May.

Please note this is not a bereavement support or grief counselling session.

About Healthwatch Lambeth

About Healthwatch Lambeth

Healthwatch Lambeth in the independent health and care champion for local people.  We ensure people can have their say about the services they use, to help drive improvements.  We also help people find the health and care services they need.

This death cafe will be facilitated by Kate Damiral, Healthwatch Lambeth Engagement Officer for older people’s services.  Kate is running a project with other local organisations on advance care planning, which involves thinking ahead to how we'd like to be cared for at the end of our life or if we're in a situation where we can no longer make or communicate our own decisions.  Kate feels that death cafes are a great way to start talking about these kinds of questions, alongside other things.
