About this Death Cafe
Our first Death Cafe, at Queens Cross Church, was well attended and everyone went away exclaiming how quickly the time went and how much they enjoyed it. We would like to extend a warm invitation to anyone who wishes to join a conversation about death and dying in an open, non-judgemental format. It is a discussion group about a subject no-one talks about these days. We would like to 'lift the veil' on the taboo surrounding conversations about death. It is not grief support or therapy.
Tea, coffee and home-baked cakes will be provided free of charge.
About Carol Black & Judith Pearson
Carol was previously a Complementary Therapist working with people who had life-threatening illnesses and their families, carers and friends. Currently interested in supporting people through the dying process and encouraging open communication about death and dying.
Judith is involved in providing support to people in the Queen's Cross community and beyond, at all stages of their lives. She is an advocate for the importance of talking about death and dying in an open, non-judgemental way and wants to to encourage people to embark on those conversations in a positive environment.
