About this Death Cafe

At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. It is a safe environment where we create an open dialogue to discuss any topic related to death with no agenda, objectives or themes. The group directed discussion does not substitute as a grief support group or counselling session, but instead a place to talk about something we've all been thinking about: death.

About Sarah Miller & Rev. Olivia Hunter

Sarah is no stranger to navigating the uncertainty that accompanies end of life. After losing her dad, grandpa, and mom all before the age of 25 she became very acquainted with the ins and outs of death, grief, and end of life planning. During her own journey of healing through loss, she found herself sitting in a certification program to become an End of Life Doula. She is passionate about helping people to find meaning in life through an understanding of death.

Olivia is a hospice volunteer and interfaith minister who is honored to have assisted families during the sacred death & dying experience. Recently retired from a 30 year career in Human Resources, she has completed End of Life Doula training as she transitions into her next chapter career.
