About this Death Cafe
Join us for the 1st Death Cafe at The Center on Halsted. We hope to hold quarterly Cafes to give the community a welcoming space to talk about end of life, death and dying.
Death Cafes are gatherings for open conversation and exploration of life and death. Cafes are not support or grief groups. All are welcome!
About Jessica Sylvester & Susan Killelea
Jessica completed the University of Vermont’s End of Life Doula Program in March of 2019. She is a long time yoga practitioner and has work experience as a caregiver and hospice volunteer. Jessica was raised close to the land and nature. Because of this she has been comfortable with the topic of death since childhood and has extensive personal experience with loss and grief.
Susan is a long time helping professional that was drawn to join the death positive movement. She completed End of Life Doula training with Lifespan Doulas and Home Funeral training with The Death Midwife. She works with a local hospice and independently.
