About this Death Cafe
Booking essential!
Facing death in order to embrace life more fully.
Death Cafe gives us the permission we often don't experience in day to day life to talk about the one thing that is certainly going to affect us all.
And it's not all doom and gloom - Come and find out. You'll be most welcome.
We stay in the same group of 5 or 6 people for the evening, so you can relax in one spot and get to listen and share.
Free but, if you have the means and would like to, please buy cake and a drink to make it worthwhile the venue opening up exclusively for us. Thank you
About Debbie Jones, Funeral Celebrant
Debbie is an independent funeral celebrant. She offers 1:1 'Planning Ahead' sessions, supporting people to plan their own funeral ceremonies. She aims to skilfully guide anyone who wishes to, to think about and plan for their own funeral, focussing on their significant life events and any messages they may wish to leave for those left behind.
She also writes and conducts person-centred, bespoke ceremonies for all, working from the values of mindfulness and compassion.
She is passionate about offering and enabling choice, in the most creative of ways. There are many options and she aims to open people’s eyes as to what can be done, to create the most fitting ceremony.
She says, “I feel the Death Cafe is a profound movement with the potential to change our society. It brings us together to talk about the fragility of life, the beauty and the terror of that. We often try to separate death from our lives, but Death Cafes help to connect death into life again.
Life can feel deeper and richer as a result, as we connect at a level that feels very real, raw and important.”
Professional member of the Green Fuse Guild of Funeral Celebrants and the Good Funeral Guild.
