About this Death Cafe

Tea and cake are a comfort when bringing people together. We will offer a warm, quiet and private space at the Bridges centre where everyone is welcomed. Regardless of whether you have had close contact with death and dying or not, this important issue is central for all of us, and it is so often avoided, leading to fear and discomfort.  I have found that talking about death and all the elements that surround it, is helpful and life affirming.  I welcome everyone, even if you have nothing to say and just want to listen.  Home made cake is for you.  We hope you will make a voluntary donation if you can to cover the cost of the room charge.

About Rebecca Lacey

I am a retired Speech and Language Therapist and NHS Manager, who has had an ongoing interest in Death Cafes and the Death cafe movement. I have found particitpation in these conversations so supportive, following the deatsh of my parents, and more recently, my younger sister.  I moved to the Forest of Dean from London in 2018 with my husband. We feel very happy and settled here, and seem to be able to entice our three adult sons and their partners here for long walks amonsgt the rural beauty.  I feel very privileged to in a position to host this cafe and welcome any one who feels they might be interested
