About Melissa White

Melissa White is an experienced researcher, educator, and hospice volunteer.

The Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center in Mountain View is a supportive, caring adult day health program that encourages the vitality and well-being of less-independent older adults, enabling them to stay at home longer. It also offers much-needed respite for families. In this professional yet warm setting, adults living with a chronic disease, dementia, or a disability receive individualized therapeutic, social, and health services for some part of the day. Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center is licensed by the State of California to provide two levels of daytime care—adult day care and adult day health care.

Mission Hospice & Home Care serves patients and families in the San Mateo County area with quality, compassionate end-of-life care and education. Founded in 1979, our local, independent nonprofit has provided thousands of patients and their families with physical, emotional, and spiritual support throughout the journey from a life-threatening diagnosis through death and bereavement.

We began to host Death Cafes in San Mateo County in 2015, and we continue to be inspired by the people who join us to share their experiences, stories, hopes and dreams about death.
