About this Death Cafe

Many of us don't have the opportunity to talk openly about death with others yet there be many things we would like to think about and discuss. A Death Cafe provides the space to do just this.

At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. It is simply an opportunity to talk about death in a safe and comfortable environment with no agenda, objectives or themes. We run our groups so it is easy to share stories, thoughts or worries, or simply just listen.

Gentle Dusk is a socially minded orgnisation working with communities and professionals to lift the taboo around death, dying and bereavement.

Mireille Hayden is a health psychologist, trainer and end of life doula,passionate about enabling open conversations around end of life.
