About this Death Cafe

“It is not death that we should fear, but we should fear never beginning to live.” Marcus Aurelius.

Ellie Brooks, Dorset’s only qualified Sacred Celebrant (IPHM) is delighted to be holding her next Death Cafe at Gaunts House in Wimborne.

A Death Cafe is a gathering of people who come together to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death.

The objective is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives'.

During the Death Cafe there will be a friendly group discussion of death with no agenda, objective or theme. It is important to note that the Death Cafe hosts a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.

Death Cafes are an international phenomenon, and are always offered:

  • On a not for profit basis
  • In an accessible, respectful and confidential space
  • With no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action
  • Alongside refreshing drinks and nourishing food – and cake!

We are very grateful to Gaunts House for hosting this event with us.

Refreshments will be available to buy during the evening.

This event is free to attend but pre-booking is essential to reserve your space. Use the contact form below to reserve your seat.
