About this Death Cafe

I have benefitted from attending Death Cafe' events in the Chico area, and have hosted a couple of such gatherings in Concow when I lived there.  I hope to continue this annual tradition and offer an opportunity for folks to participate in discussing the topic of Death.  This will be an open space to allow everyone to ask any questions they may have about death and dying and to share our thoughts, feelings and dreams about these topics. I hope that representatives of the Chico Alliance For Support and Education in Dying and Death will attend to help facilitate our chat.

About Laurel Paulson-Pierce

I arrived in Westwood last winter, as a refugee from the Camp Fire in Butte County.  This devastating fire caused many deaths, and the losses have impacted many.   As the seasons change, and the Earth begins to go into hibernation, it is often the time to think of the end of life. Around Halloween and the Day of the Dead, they say the "veil is thin" and the spirit world becomes closer.  This seems like an appropriate time to open the topic of death to discdussion.
