About this Death Cafe

Join us for tea, cake and some open group discussions about that big old taboo... death.

We're all in this together, so this isn't a teaching session. There's no set agenda, and we don't wish to promote our services.

We're holding this event because we feel something magic happens when a group of strangers talk openly about a topic which unites us all.

This event will be held at our brand new respite hospice - a beautifully designed space that's ideal for this kind of thing.

Free cake, tea, coffee, redbush, lapsang soochong etc : )

About Skanda Vale Hospice

Skanda Vale Hospice is quite a unique place in that it is probably the only inpatient hospice in the UK to be run by full time volunteers.

We're here to help families cope, and adapt gracefully to the process of death and dying.

Cath Thompson, our head nurse, will be organising the event. She has a wealth of experience, from a lifetime of palliative care.
