About this Death Cafe
As before, this Death Cafe in Gothenburg is taking place in a homely and welcoming environment, at the funeral home of Vila Begravning. The café is free with refreshments provided.
Death Cafe is a global movement in which people come together to have open and honest conversations about death and dying in a safe and non-judgemental space. The objective is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their lives.
Our hope and purpose with this cafe is to open up on a subject which to many is still taboo. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.
About Jenny-Ann Gunnarsson and Josefin Haraldsson
Jenny-Ann Gunnarsson is an independant funeral director. With the deaths of close family members she realised how taboo it is and how little time we give to this natural, if yet sad, part of being a living human. She wanted to open up and let people in on what happens when someone is dying and has died. With knowledge, understanding and compassion from one another, it's easier to deal with life's hardships.
Josefin Haraldsson is a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, educated at the Swedish Institute of Grief Recovery. Apart from coaching and teaching both individuals and groups, she is also lecturing at companies and other organizations about grief and how to approach mourners. She also lives as she teaches and has thus worked through her own experiences of grief and loss. With a background in the manufacturing industry she is dedicated to the personal development of human beings and to liberate people from their mental obstructions, enabling them to live their lives to the fullest. Josefin is also dedicated to the LGBTQ movement and supporting everyone’s right to live their life just as they are.
