Remove religion out of the equation

Posted by luizcarlos

Lots of people still equate life after death with religion. Does life after death have to have anything to do with religion? I think we will only be able to understand and prove/accept life after death  when we fully realize that it has nothing whatsoever to do with religion. Let's remove it from the equation and try to solve it intelligently.

Right On

Agree with you Carlos, and the previous commentator said it just right, "Death Cafes, Death & Dying Studies, Concerts and such events are helping more than one can imagine. Just my view, Carlos."

Life and Death minus religion

Luiz Carlos - In my opinion you bring a very good point to the cafe. That said, studies show religion influences life and death issues in a deep way. Some religions use giving away money to various organizations and charitable causes as a way of improving one's after life. Other religions are helpful in telling people (right or wrong) that there is life after death, not exactly what we have today but a level of consciousness that tells us something about the universe. One type prepares the folks to die well (Some native american tribes and Buddhists) come to mind. The other type scares people into doing things that they want done...But yes, we do not need religion, but how must we proceed, given that many who are ready to die, hold onto some kind of strong faith? Some education and training on the subject is definitely needed, and I think, Death Cafes, Death & Dying Studies, Concerts and such events are helping more than one can imagine. Just my view, Carlos.
