Looking for specialists on death and dying for new public art work

I am an artist based in Bristol and I am making a new public art work called Dead Line, which explores our varying relationships to death and dying. The work will take place in Bristol in May 2015 and is presented presented by Mayfest in association with the 4th International Public Health and Palliative Care Conference.

As part of the work I am looking for a collection of specialists who work or have direct experience within the field of Death of Dying.  As a Dead Line specialist you contribution to the work is over the phone and so you can be based anywhere and I am excited by the potential of working with a diverse group of people from all over the world.

The art work will include a live telephone conversation with a number of different 'specialists' who will share an individual perspective around their work / experience with and of death and dying. I have a number of specialists who I am already working with from the research phase of the project but I am also looking for more people to take part in the project to offer new perspectives and experiences.

Current Dead Line specialists include funeral directors, health care professionals, hospice workers, researchers, celebrants, doctors, embalmers, authors and doulas - although I am open to suggestions.

The event will take place between 14-17 May 2015 but specialist’s involvement would be via telephone so there is no need to travel to Bristol. I would like to work with each specialist a bit beforehand in April-May to discuss the project and develop each specialists involvement, again this would take place on the phone.  However the time commitment is something we can tailor around your commitments on a case by case basis.
