Death Cafes' increase awareness by providing a platform for informal and organic conversations around the subjects of death and dying. These are safe spaces which enable friends and strangers to share their thoughts and feelings about death. And perhaps most importantely - to paraphrase the philosopher Spinoza - discussing death is not really a meditation on dying but on living.
