About Ashman:
Ashman created memorial artwork November 2, 2001 after the infamous 9/11 event. His Stone of Light artwork hangs in Ripley's Believe it or Not! Museums in Hollywood, Ca. and Orlando, Fl. Using beloved pet and human ash from cremation he mixes all or part of the ash in his organic earth friendly medium he calls, "SOL Art". Working closely with clients he personalizes every work with their input, including personal items put into the medium. His Memorial Vaults are the alternative to the urn, with or without ashes installed. Ashman's memorial artwork is a transformative personal tribute and loving remembrance.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
A friend who wrote the book called, "Pondering Leaves" about Funeral Planning and Resources. She mentioned Death Cafe to me. Her Death Cafe gathering place discuss preperation for the Jump to their new material manifestation point.
We are in a wonderful age for all types of memorial services and means of remembrance after we start the process back to the light. Humanity is one Spirit on this lovely planet we call home. Celebrating life that is such a precious gift.
I offer my thoughts and memorial services to this Death Cafe. It is a beautiful way to express yourslf about any concerns you have about death. We all leave an impression behind, make it a beautiful one. With much respect, Ashman.

What would you like your legacy to be?
My legacy will be in the SOL work I do for others. The reward while I'm living is knowing how many I have helped complete their grieving process with their Stone of Light.
I created a work with my beloved cat Dillion's ashes in the SOL medium on a Memorial Vault canvas. My cremated reamins will be put in the Memorial Art Vault to always be with Dillion.
A time honored tribute for my relatives to carry on my legacy as Ashman.

Envision Green Cemeteries that are like parks with beautiful landscaped settings. Depending on location they can be desert gardens, lush tropical havens or mountain retreats to visit, enjoy nature and be with your loved one.
All the trees, plants and foliage are grown with the body put into the Mushroom Death Suit or bag that decomposes the body into rich compost for plants and trees to help grow with body decomposition. Another new concept is the Bio Urn which uses cremated remains with seeds to be planted to grow and nurture as a beautiful living memoral.
Plants and trees can have a small metal tag with the name, date of birth and death. Trees and plants will replace the tombstones. A beautiful memorial park willl be the result of this new burial concept.
This earth friendly concept will help green the earth and be a place where everyone can enjoy being there celebrating their life, and being with those who have gone before us. The Tao of Transmission with our planet.

Wonderful way to give back to the planet by using cremated remains with viable seeds to grow trees or plants to beautify the earth.
My Fathers cremated remains of Ash and Bone fragmants are part of the sculpted medium to create this work. I made several works using all his ashes and kept a few for family legacy.
My cremation artwork has evolved from Ash Works to SOL Vaults, with or without a loved ones cremated ashes installed in the work.
Pondering my own Death and celebrating my life is a gift. I wish to share this elemental artwork as remembering all our relations.
