About Dawn Whelan:
In 2014 I founded My Last Gift which affords individuals the opportunity to show those they cherish that their love is infinite beyond the physical boundaries of life. I offer end-of-life education, planning, and posthumous services. I have also founded a non-profit version of this service One Last Gift in 2018 serving children and their families.
I am a NEDA proficient End-of-Life Doula and serve as a hospice volunteer throughout Hartford and Tolland Counties in Connecticut. I am passionate about providing education and pre-planning assistance to ensure individuals understand the options available; allowing them to make informed decisions for their future. Planning is not about planning for death but rather “Living” right till the end.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
This is community of like minded individuals who share the desire to have conversations that encompass the taboo yet improtant topics of death and dying.
What would you like your legacy to be?
Death is one of the greatest fears that people have. I would like to remove , or at least lessen that fear for as many people as I can.
