About Lara McIntyre, RPC-C:
I am a registered professional counsellor and a certified life coach. And I wonder about death- it's something we all have to experience, but how often do we discuss it? It comes across as forbidden, hidden and overridden. I would like to enhance my life, and others around me by having open conversations about our fears, expectations and experiences around death. We talk about sex, drugs, teenagers, children, adults, babies, religion, politics, cars, vacations, frustrations and hopes. Let's talk about death too, so we can live life fuller now!
What brings you to Death Cafe?
A man I respect taught me about Death Cafe, and his cafe was wonderful. It's a fair distance and so I thought how great it would be to have one in another community to support more of the Lower Mainland of BC.
What would you like your legacy to be?
If I help one person, I can die knowing I made a difference. My goals are higher though, as I hope to help many, including myself!
