About this Death Cafe

Death Café – Toronto Spousal Loss focuses on the specific community of widow/ers whose loss is 2 or more years ago.  Like all other death cafes, it is a discussion group with no specific agenda rather than a support group.  Members have the option of volunteering to facilitate on a rotating basis and we anticipate meeting once every other month.  Taking place in the private room of a local café/restaurant, the evening will start with an optional half hour of socializing and eating, followed by a two-hour discussion.

About Justine Silver

Host Justine believes whole-heartedly in the concept of getting people together to discuss death and dying – with no agenda.  Her interest in the specific community of widow/ers stems from her own experience after the sudden loss of her husband and her desire to keep the conversation going several years later.

Facilitator Janice tackles the subject of death, dying and grief through poetry and writing.  Her genuine joy in training puppies to become therapy dogs is an inspiration to all.
