About this Death Cafe

The Death Cafe will take place in the Courthouse Garden Cafe,  which is provided by Jamyang Buddhist Centre. I have been a student of Jamyang since 1999 and it is largely due to Jamyang, especially resident teacher Geshe Tashi, that I am working around death and dying now. Despite the long association this is the first Death Cafe that will take place here. For me it is a special moment.

The Death Cafe will be part of the Dying Well group, details here. This group has been meeting at Jamyang for many years led the amazing Sue Aldam and Robin Bath with support from Jane Sill.

Dying Well runs from 10am to 4pm but it is fine to just attend the Death Cafe part of the day.

* Please note * we are making a film to support our campaign to establish a real Death Cafe in London. As such there will be filming at this event. However it is fine not to be filmed if you don't want to be and we will take care to establish this.

The event will be free with food and drink available for purchase. Though the context for the Death Cafe is Buddhist the event is open to all. Please join us to discuss all aspects of death in this oasis of peace in the middle of the city.
